Our Mission Statement

Cool Kids exists to improve the quality of child care and the lives of children and families by offering superior training and education to all child care providers, including those in child care centers, preschools, day care homes, and parents throughout Texas. Cool Kids focuses on all areas of early childhood development with an emphasis on brain development, nurturing, the arts, self-esteem, and nutrition.

Cool Kids believes that what children experience from birth to age five has a dramatic effect on the rest of their lives. We believe that a child's future is effected by many factors that occur early in life, including child care.

With over 80% of American children in some form of day care, we believe that there is a great need for quality early care and education.

The major criteria in determining quality includes appropriate group size, adequate adult/child ratios, developmentally-appropriate curriculum, interactions with adults that are caring and stimulating for children, and comprehensive training and education of the staff.

Cool Kids offers superior, appropriate, and useful training and services for all providers, child care staff, and families. Our emphasis is on teaching and promoting the idea that in order to give children the best start and to help them develop, they need such things as caring interaction, loving touch, music, reading, creative play, stable relationships, safe and healthy environments, self-esteem, and good nutrition.

Providing children with these things will enhance social and cognitive behaviors of young children on into adulthood. Families' participation in high quality early childhood programs can result in factors such as more positive attitudes and modeling for parents regarding their children and themselves and better parent-child interactions.

Our goal is to establish training, education, and services for child care professionals and parents in order to improve the quality of child care programs which will result in dramatic long-term benefits for children and their futures.
